skinnybuddha 's Thoughts:

The Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Iceland, located in a lava field about an hour away from Reykjavik, and of course we had to go and pay a visit. Don't be fooled by the layers I am wearing, it was actually even colder than this but I removed the scarf and jacket for the sake of the pictures. The average temperature during our stay was 10-12 °C , but that didn't matter once you stepped into the Blue Lagoon. The water temperature in the bathing area averages around a soothing 38-40 °C and is rich in minerals. We even received complimentary silica mud for face masks in the water. Needless to say this was a one of a kind experience, I would say it even comes close to my favorite so far which was whale watching. Make sure you don't miss it if you ever travel to Iceland, I highly recommend it!
